I am fortunate to have my work included amongst so many great artists in the 2020 Alaska Biennial at the Anchorage Museum here in Alaska. This piece is titled “Idle” and is an 8 foot long representation of a stuffed polar bear. It is made of fired ceramic, paint, stains, graphite, wood, and steel. It is intended to lay on the floor much like a toppled, discarded taxidermy mount without its base.
The work is now on view at the Anchorage Museum through Spring but if you would like to take a virtual look around the exhibition, check out the museum’s link here.
